When we decided to give multi-pitch climbing a try, the Flatirons in Boulder were a logical choice. The Flatirons are world-famous for climbing, with Flatiron 1, 2, and 3 being popular climbing routes.
We hired a certified guide to lead and set out on a very warm July day to climb the First Flatiron.
The day began on the Chautauqua Trail, with about a half-hour hike into the base of First Flatiron.
Climbing was hot via our route and took about 4 1/2 pitches.
The views were amazing. It began to rain on us just after we rappelled off the back.
A great day on granite.
