Ethel Helen Phillis was born on 9 December 1924 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to Clarence Edgar Phillis and Kathlyn Morgan.1

Ethel Helen lived with her parents and siblings in Chicago during her childhood and teen years.2 Ethel Helen, who used Helen as an adult, married Frank John Zokoych on 31 December 1943.3 The couple had two children, Jacqulin Mary, born in 1944, and Robert Frank, born in 1946.4 Helen and Frank divorced; Frank died in 1974.5
Helen married second to Howard William Stark on 23 February 1949 in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky.6 Both lived in Chicago at the time of their marriage and Howard was a woodworker.7
Sadly, Helen died only a few years later. Ethel Helen Phillis Stark died at the age of 29 on 14 June 1954 in Chicago.8 Helen is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, Cook County, Illinois.9

Helen’s spouse, Howard William Stark, died in 1996 in Skokie, Cook County, Illinois at the age of 79.10
Helen’s son, Robert Frank, died on 15 October 2002 at the age of 56.11
Jacqulin “Jackie”’ Mary Zokoych Larson, Helen’s daughter, died on 5 November 2016 in Shawano, Shawano County, Wisconsin.12
