Treehouse Genealogy/Allied Air Force Research

Central Scotland

Tell us a bit about your genealogy/family history journey

I took up Genealogy as a way to pass the cold winters in Scotland. Hearing that Strathclyde University ran a Post Graduate Course I promptly enrolled.
Passionate about all things Scottish I now run Treehouse Genealogy & assist clients worldwide to find out more about their Scottish Ancestry.
Born into the RAF Family & with several Air Force War Heroes I developed an special interest in Allied Air Force Research & went on to set up a website of the same name. I work with private clients who have family members that served with the Commonwealth Forces & regularly assist Museums & worldwide organisations with Air Force Research.
I regularly provide talks in relation to Genealogy & Air Force Research as well as organising Virtual Conferences.

Surnames of interest

Mather, Hind, Anderson, Oliphant

If you could meet one person from your family tree that died before you were born, who would it be and why?

My Great Uncle who served with Bomber Command & was shot down over Germany in 1943

Favorite place where you’ve traveled

Europe. I enjoy visiting the places & graves of those that I research.

From a genealogy/family history research perspective, what would you have done differently?

I wish I had known as a child that I would go on to develop an interest in Genealogy. There are lots of questions I would have asked that I never got the chance to!

What are you currently working on and what’s next?

I am currently working on several Air Force Projects that involve men from the UK, Australia, New Zealand & Canada. Next up I want to create more talks & workshops that can be carried out virtually.
