Stage 1: Highland Circuit Race

Dion Smith (Hincapie Sportswear Development) won the stage 1 Highland Circuit, finishing just ahead of James Oram (Bissell Development Team) and William Routley (Optum p/b Kelly Benefits Strategies).

Eric Marcotte (Team SmartStop), Coulton Hartrich (SeaSucker-Guttenplan), Bailey McKnight (Jet Fuel Coffee), and Colin Daw (Team Mike’s Bikes) formed a breakaway that lasted until lap 18 of the 20 lap circuit. Optum p/b Kelly Benefits Strategies moved to the front of the peloton, controlling the last laps, but on the last climb to the finish, Hincapie Sportswear Development pulled to the front to deliver Smith to the line for the win.

Smith will be wearing the leader’s jersey for the stage 2 individual time trial on Big Bear mountain and McNight will be in the climber’s jersey.

Stage 2: Big Bear Lake Individual Time Trial

Tom Zirbel (Optum p/b Kelly Benefits Strategies) won Stage 2 and took over the lead at Big Bear Lake ITT.

Serghei Tvetcov (Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis) came in second and Samuel Snipe- Grove (Incycle-Predator Components) was third. Zirbel’s teammate William Routley is now 1 second back in the overall and Travis McCabe (Smart Stop) is 5 seconds back. Zirbel will be wearing the yellow leader’s jersey for the 120.5-mile stage 3, along with sprint leader Serghei Tvetcov (Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis) and climber leader Bailey McKnight (Jet Fuel Coffee- Norco).
Stage 3: City of Beaumont Circuit Road Race

Travis McCabe (Smart Stop) won stage 3 and took over the race lead at Redlands Bicycle Classic 2014 Stage 3 with Ty Magner (Hincapie Sportswear Development) coming in second and Sergio Hernandez (Incycle-Predator Components) in third.

McCabe will be wearing the yellow leader’s jersey for the Stage 4 City of Redlands Criterium, Nicolai Brochner (Bissell Development Team) will wear the green sprint leader’s jersey, Daniel Jaramillo (Jamis Hagens Berman p/b Sutter Home) will be in the red climber leader’s jersey, and Justin Rossi (Marc Pros-Strava) will wear the white best amateur jersey.

Leah Kirchman (Optum p/b Kelly Benefits Strategies) took the stage 3 victory and the leader’s jersey in Beaumont. Second place went to Lauren Stephens (Team Tibco) and third to Tayler Wiles (Specialized-Lululemon).
Stage 4: City of Redlands Criterium

Pierrick Naud picked up the stage 4 victory, with Bobby Lea coming in second and Eloy Teruel placing third. Travis McCabe retained the overall race lead 8 seconds ahead of Tom Zirbel.

Leah Kirchmann won stage 4 of the women’s race, besting Alison Powers and Joanne Kiesanowski for the win. Kirchman sits 10 seconds ahead of Powers in the overall race.
Stage 5: Beaver Medical Group Sunset Road Race

Joey Rosskopf prevailed on the streets of downtown Redlands during stage 5 of the Redlands Bicycle Classic, winning the stage and the overall race. James Oram was second and Bobby Sweeting was third at the day’s racing, with Oram finishing the overall race in second place. Travis McCabe came in third in the overall.

In the women’s race, Mara Abbott took first place at stage 5, with Taylor Wiles crossing in second place and Flavia Oliveira in third. In the overall race, the women swapped spots, with Taylor Wiles taking first, Abbott second, and Leah Kirchmann in third.
