Ethel May Kuykendall was born about 29 Jan 1891 in Sorento, Bond County, Illinois to James John. Kuykendall and Flora Bell Wallace Kuykendall.1

Ethel married John Schmidt on 14 Oct 1919 and the couple, along with their son, Robert William, made their home in Gillespie, Macoupin County, Illinois.2

Ethel May Kuykendall Schmidt died on 14 Jun 1931 in Gillespie and is buried in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Carlinville.3

Gillespie, June 15–Mrs. Ethel May Schmidt, age 36 years, 4 months, and 15 days, died at her home in North Gillespie Sunday afternoon about 3 o’clock, following an illness of three years.

She was born at Sorento and was married Oct. 14, 1919 to John Schmidt. Her husband and one son, Robert, and her mother, Mrs. Flora Grebert survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o’clock, Tuesday morning at the Lutheran church in this city, Rev. L. Krekeler officiating. Interment will be in the Mayfield cemetery.
