Dorothy Catherine Leidy was born on 4 October 1928 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to John Leidy and Elsie Schroeder.¹ As a child, Dorothy lived with her parents and siblings in Chicago near Lincoln Park.²

Dorothy married Clarence Edgar Phillis, Jr, on 20 May 1948 in Cook County and Clarence, Dorothy, and their children lived in Chicago.³

Dorothy’s father, John Leidy, died on 7 November 1957 in Chicago, and is buried in Montrose Cemetery in Chicago.⁴ Dorothy’s mother died at the age of 83 in October 1985.⁵

Dorothy’s husband, Clarence Edgar Phillis Jr., died at the age of 57 on 22 March 1979.⁶ Dorothy Leidy Phillis died on 11 April 1989 in Chicago at the age of 60.⁷ Dorothy is buried in Montrose Cemetery in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.⁸
