Tuesday March 21st 1843

The congregation met pursuant to previous notice the Rev Wm Wilson acting as Moderator. proceeded to state the object of the meeting-which was to make out a call for a pastor (Mr Alexander) for this Church It appeared that there were some preliminary arrangements to be made with the deacons of Senecaville Church-upon the moderator (Mr Wilson) left the Chair and Mr Moses Frame was chosen Chairman. The deacons of the Church at Senecaville then reported that they were unable to have more than one hundred dollars towards supporting a pastors upon which Wm Morrow moved a reconsideration of the motion offered by Mr Williams on the last congregational meeting (viz that one forth of the time be given to the Senecaville Church for one hundred Dollars) (carried) when Wm Morrow moved that that motion now now prevale. To which Wm Robinson Sen moved an amendment by adding and that their

deficency shall be made up by appropriating twenty five dollars out of any funds that may be collected in this Church for domestic missions (which motion with the amendment was carried)  on motion it was resolved that a committee be appointed to raise funds to pay up the arrears of this church for coal supplyed &c. committee

On motion it was resolved that this this church raise money to defray the expenses of the members of session in attending Synodes & Presbytaries

The moderator then took the Chair and proceeded with the call

The following questions being put by the moderator were unanimously adopted viz

1th Shall this church now proceed to call a pastor

2d Shall Mr J Alexander be your pastor

The Call being read Wm Morrow moved that a committee of four be-

appointed to subscribe to this call (carried)

Mr Cochran moved that, that committee be selected out of the session of this church Mr Robison Sen moved to amend the motion by inserting all the members of session and to strike out four (which was agreed to)

Meeting called to Order by Calling the Rev Wallace to the Chair

When John Frame moved that we go into an Election of three deacons

Wm Robinson Sen moved that we nominate by a committee candidates for the office of deacon

and that the preasent Deacons be said Committee which Committee reported the following names as candidates

the following persons were duly Elected Wm Robison Jun, Isaac McCollums, James McCrerie

The Deacons maid a Report of the Fiscal concernings of the Church which was accepted The treasurers Report being called for which was given

when Mr Withrow moved that this congregation Appropriate thirty dollars out of the funds Raised for the home mission to the Senecaville Church provided they can meet the bal of the one forth of Mr Alexanders Sallery

Mr McCurdy offered the following Resolution In view of the deficency in the vocal exercises of our Church. Resolved that we appoint a Committee to consult and adapt measures in order for the better performance of that part of devine service and that committee to consist of five viz James McCreire, Wm Robe, John Robinson of W, Thomas Laughlin, Hugh Brown.

when Mr Robe offered the following Resolutions. Resolved 1th We the members of this Congregation do agree to pay punctually our Seeting for the presant

year against the time it becomes due

2 Amended by Resolved that all persons who now ocupy Seets be considered as taking the same for the next year unless notice be given to the deacons

3 Resolved that our quarterly subscriptions formerly for the board of Publications be appropriated to pay the contingent Expences of this church this year

4 Resolved that our next Anual meeting be on the 6th day of January next

On Motion of Mr Withrow

 it was moved that the Deacons of the Senecaville Church be requested to meet with the deacons of this church at as soon a period as possible and make known whether they can raise bal of their part of salary
