Rosalie Parlow was born 11 September 1872 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts to George F. Parlow and Elizabeth A. Howland.1

During her childhood, Rosalie lived at 175 Williams Street with her parents and siblings, Ann, Florence, and Harrison, and attended Fifth Street Grammar School.2 Rosalie attended New Bedford High School and was a member of the Plantagenets society; she is pictured fifth from the left in the photo.3

Rosalie graduated from New Bedford High School in 1890.4

In the late 1890s, Rosalie lived with her mother, Elizabeth, sister, Anna, and aunt, Sarah Howland in Dartmouth.5 Rosalie’s mother, Elizabeth Howland Parlow, died on 21 January 1899 at the age of 62 in New Bedford.6 She left her property to Anna; the will was contested in 1899.7

In 1900, one of the deadliest hurricanes ever to come ashore in the United States devasted Galveston, Texas; Rosalie must have been relieved when she received a telegram that her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and John Charles Harris, were safe.8

On 12 June 1902, Rosalie married William Isaac Kinter, a bridge builder from Pennsylvania, in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.9 Tragically, William was killed later that year in an accident. 10 He is buried in Friends Burying Ground in New Bedford.11

Rosalie married second to Theodore F. Kenyon on 31 January 1906 in New Bedford.12

The couple moved to Fall River and, in 1910, Rosalie was appointed a census enumerator in ward 1 of the city.13

When Theodore registered for the draft in 1917, the couple was living at 39 Rounds Street in New Bedford, where they would live for the majority of the rest of their lives.14

Rosalie’s father, George Francis Parlow, died at the age of 89 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, in 1926.15 He is buried in Royal Palm South Cemetery in St. Petersburg.16

Rosalie’s spouse, Theodore, narrowly escaped tragedy in 1934 when his truck was struck by a train in New Bedford.17

Rosalie Parlow Kenyon died in 1941 in New Bedford.18 Theodore died the following year in Taunton.19 Rosalie and Theodore are buried in Friends Burying Ground in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.20
