Annie Clapp Milliken was born in April 1872 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine to George H. Milliken and Harriet Emmons.1 The family soon moved to New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts to 82 Pleasant Street, where Annie spent her childhood with her parents, her brothers, George and Hugh, and her uncle, Frank.2

Annie attended Parker Street Grammar School, then New Bedford High School, where, in 1887 Annie was a member of the Plantagenets society; she is eighth from the left in the photograph.3

Annie graduated from New Bedford High School in 1890.4

Annie lived with her family until 1900 when she married Henry A. Berry of New Jersey on 13 June 1900 in New Bedford; the couple made their home in Hackensack, New Jersey following their wedding.5

Annie’s father, George Henry Milliken, died on 7 November 1905 in Brooklyn, New York, and is buried in Hackensack, New Jersey.6 Annie’s mother, Harriet Emmons Milliken, lived with Henry and Annie, and their sons, Henry, Emmons, and Donald, until her death in 1919.7

Annie and Henry lived in Hackensack until she died at the age of 52 on 2 March 1925; Annie is buried in Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey.8

Annie’s brother, Hugh Emmons Milliken, died in 1936 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.9 Hugh is buried in Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, New Jersey.10

Annie’s brother, George Henry Milliken, Jr, died in 1937 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and is buried in Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside, Cook County, Illinois.11

Annie’s husband, Henry A. Berry, died on 14 March 1944. Henry and Annie are buried in Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey.12

Annie and Henry’s sons

Annie and Henry’s middle son, Emmons Milliken Berry, died on 11 July 1976 in Tom’s River, Ocean County, New Jersey.13 Emmons is buried in Whiting Memorial Park in Whiting, Ocean County, New Jersey.14

Annie and Henry’s eldest son, Henry Anderson Berry, Jr, died at the age of 81 on 13 January 1985 in Wayne Township, Passaic, New Jersey.15

Henry and Annie’s youngest son, Donald Ward Berry, died on 30 December 1992 at the age of 84 in San Diego County, California.16
