Annabelle Chubbuck was born on 7 Feb 1872, most likely in Wareham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts to Franklin B. Chubbuck and Henrietta H. Burgess.1 It is unknown where Annabelle spent her childhood; her mother, Henrietta was living in Taunton with Annabelle’s grandmother and aunt in 1880.2

By 1881, Annabelle’s father, Frank, was working as a nailer in New Bedford and living at 91 High Street, where he lived for several years.3 Annabelle attended Middle Street Grammar School, graduating in 1886, had her photograph taken ca. 1890 in New Bedford, and graduated from New Bedford High School in 1890.4

After high school, Annabelle worked as an assistant bookkeeper at 35 Elm and boarded at 148 Purchase in New Bedford.5 About 1895, Annabelle married Carl Anton Boeker of Vermont, and the couple made their home in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.6 Annabelle and Carl frequently visited Carl’s family in Vermont and journeyed to Montreal, Canada in 1895.7

In 1897, Annabelle and Carl welcomed their first child, Dorothy Lurana, born on Christmas Eve in 1897 and weighing 12 pounds.8

Norman Ray was born in 1901 in Springfield, just before Carl took a new position in Meriden, Connecticut, and Wayne Carl joined the family in 1903.9 Despite a serious illness, which he overcame, Carl’s career was flourishing and another daughter, Leslie Marion, joined the family in Connecticut just before the family once again moved, this time to Providence, Rhode Island.10

Three more children were born in Providence: Carl Anton, Jr, in 1908, August Franklin, in 1909, and Edith Alice in 1911.11
Annabelle’s father, Franklin Benson Chubbuck, married a second time, and he and his wife, Alice, lived in New Bedford, then in Brockton in Plymouth County, Massachusetts until his death in 1926. Frank is buried in the Chubbuck family plot in Agawam Cemetery in Wareham.12 Annabelle’s mother, Henrietta “Etta” Hay Burgess moved to Providence before 1900, where she lived until her death in 1920 in Providence. She is also buried in Agawam Cemetery in Wareham.13
Carl and Annabelle remained living in Providence until his death in 1935. Carl is buried in Hope Cemetery in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont.14

Following Carl’s death, Annabelle moved back to New Bedford, where she lived with her son, Carl.15 Annabelle Chubbuck Boeker died in 1952 in New Bedford. She is also buried in the Chubbuck family plot in Agawam Cemetery in New Bedford.16
Annabelle and Carl’s children
August Franklin Boeker died at the age of 55 on 28 May 1965 in New York. He is buried in Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York.17
When Norman Ray Boeker registered for the World War II draft, he was living in New Bedford with his mother and brother, Carl, and working at the National Fireworks Company in West Hanover. As Norman was not listed in the 1986 obituary of his sister, Dorothy, in 1986, it is believed he most likely died sometime between 1942 and 1986.18
Dorothy Lurana Boeker Lyons died at the age of 88 on 30 Nov 1986 in Red Bank, Monmouth County, New Jersey.19

Wayne Carl Boeker died at the age of 92 on 22 March 1995 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. Wayne is buried with his wife, Florence, in Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, Providence County, Rhode Island.20

Edith Alice Boeker died at the age of 95 on 6 June 1995 in Pinellas County, Florida.21
Leslie Marion Boeker died on 26 November 1998. She was 93 years of age.22
Carl Anton Boeker, Jr. died at the age of 97 on 12 September 2006 in New Jersey.23
