Mary and Joseph had one child, Mary L. Phillis, who was born on 20 February 1847.3
Mary K. Marshall Phillis died in 1847 and is buried in Cumberland Cemetery in Cumberland, Guernsey County, Ohio.4

Location of birth is listed as Ohio on daughter’s death certificate. However, Joseph Phillis’ birth location is listed incorrectly as Ohio as well; he was born in Pennsylvania.
