Minutes & Proceedings of the Presbyterian Church in her Church Buisness

Nov 10th 1841 The meeting was called to order by appointing Moses Frame to the chair and Samuel Craig Secretary

Moved that the committee to whome the pecunary affairs of the Church for investigation some time ago be exonerated from that Duty

Moved that a committy be appointed to collect all unpaid Subscription and to get Subscribers for the discharge of the old dept on the Meeting house James McCreary Wm Morrow Thomas P Cochren said Committee Moved that Samuel Craig be the Stated Clerk of the Church Congregational Meetings

Moved that the Report of the pecumary affairs of the Church by Mr Williams be Recoved

Moved that a Book be provided for the Church affairs in which to keep the Minittes of the Congregational Meetings

also that Thomas Laughlin be appointed to raise the amount of $ 4.46 to pay the ballance of Mr. Haires salary for the year ending Oct 1840 the Ballance of the $14.46 being ten was paid by an individual of the congregation

Moved that Wm J K Caldwell be the Treasurer for the year commencing Oct 1841

Feb 28th the meeting called to order by the moderator McDerwell A Resolution from Mr Thomas P Cochren. Resolved that the Washington church exonerate Mr William Robe from the obligation he is under in signing The Call

for Mr Hair as Paster of the Church

Moved & seconded That an examination be maid to see if there was any arranged in the sallery of Mr Hairs

Moved That the Resolution respecting the salary of Mr Hares be posponed in order to take up the Business of seeting

where upon it was moved That Thoes that want to give up their seats can now come forward and do so or the same known to the clerk to have it done

Moved & carried That Thoes who want seats now come forward and make it known

Resolved That William Robinson Sr be a committy to get persons to take seating and set out the seats

Moved a committy of four the appointed

to take up the subscription for to make up my Deficency that may arise after the half year is out (if any is needed)

Moved That Mr McCordy Mr Williams Mr Robinson and Mr Hugh Brown the said committy

Moved That it all be now droped for the present and all who feel Disaffected towards Mr Hair be requested to hold an interview with Mr Hair and try and have all difficultyes settled and forget and forgive and become reconsiled towards each other

Moved By Mr John Laughlins and carried That at a day be set apart as a day of fasting and Prayer in this Church previous to the expiration of the six months

April 1842 Meeting called to order by Mr Wilson and on motion of-Moved & Carried that the vote for the continuance of removal of Mr Hair be taken by via voice

Moved that the vote be taken by a call of the Roll Carried Result For continuance 52 For Removal 18 Nubral (John Brown)-3 members and one percholder deprived of their vote by withdrawing their support

Moved by Mr John McCurdy that the subscription (of which the following is a copy be now Destroyed which was carried

We the subscribers promise to pay the sums next to our to ––

Brethren on his Successor in office of the first presbyterian Church in Washington) for the Labours of the Rev Samuel Hair so long as he continues the regular pastor of said Congregation. which is to be paid quarterly the first quarter commencing on the third Sabbath of October 1838
