Helen Augusta Parker was born 1 March 1871 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts to Frederick Parker and Augusta Tripp.1

Helen’s mother, Augusta Tripp Parker, died when Helen was only 8 days old.2 Helen’s father, Frederick, remarried in 1877, and Helen, her father, her step-mother, Annie, and her siblings were living at 289 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford in 1880.3

Helen attended Fifth Street Grammar School, then New Bedford High School, graduating in 1890.4

On 9 October 1897, Helen married Benjamin P. Lincoln in New Bedford.5

The couple had a son, Robert, in 1897 and soon moved to Providence, Rhode Island.6

Helen’s father, Frederick Parker, died on 16 August 1908 in New Bedford and is buried in Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.7

Helen married second to Victor Peace Thewlis on 9 January 1909 in Rhode Island; it was the second marriage for both.8 Sadly, in 1915, Helen’s son, Robert, who used the surname Thewlis, died at the age of 17 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.9 Robert is buried in Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.10

Helen and Victor moved to Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts by 1920, and by 1930, Helen was living alone in Needham, where she lived for the remainder of their life.11

Helen Augusta Parker Lincoln Thewlis died 16 November 1949 in Needham and is buried in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.12
