George Everett Noble was born in late 1871 in Orange County, New York to Ezekiel H. Noble and Delia Elizabeth Mould.1 The Noble family moved to 175 Purchase Street in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts in the late 1870s, where George’s father, Ezekiel, was a physician.2

Tragedy struck the family in February of 1880, with both of George’s sisters dying of Diptheria. Josie E. Noble died on 7 February 1880 at the age of three and Milletta died 20 days later at the age of six.3 Both are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in New Bedford.4

The following year brought a new baby girl to the family, with the birth of Jesse Christine Noble on 20 January 1881 in New Bedford.5

George attended Parker Street Grammar School, then New Bedford High School, graduating in 1890.6

In 1892, George’s mother, Delia E. Mould Noble, died on 17 November 1892 at the age of 40.7 She is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in New Bedford.8

Following high school, Geroge attended the New York Homeopathic College and, when in New Bedford, assisted with coaching the high school football team, was a member of the Y.M.C.A., lived for a time with his aunt, Miss Mary L. Noble, cared for his father’s Palmer’s Island property, traveled, and attended his high school reunion in 1893.9

After college, George moved to Albany, New York where he was a physician at the State Penitentiary.10

George became seriously ill with tuberculosis in 1899. On 19 June 1899, George wrote his last will and testament, leaving his medical books and supplies to his friend and executor, Dr. George E. Gorham. He also appointed Dr. Gorham guardian of his younger sister, Jesse Christine Noble.11

Dr. George Everett Noble died on 25 September 1899 in Liberty, Sullivan County, New York. George’s friends at the Albany County Homeopathic Medical Society adopted resolutions in the memoriam of Dr. George E. Noble.12

George’s ashes were sent to New Bedford, Massachusetts, where they were interred at Oak Grove Cemetery.13

George’s father, Dr. Ezekiel Handley Noble, died on 2 August 1913 in Groton, New London County, Connecticut.14 He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.15

George’s sister, Jessie Christine Noble Crocker, died on 18 April 1915 of tuberculosis in Hyannis, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.16 She is also buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.17
