Pearl H. Mountjoy was born in 1872 in Anderson County, Kentucky, to Thomas J. Mountjoy and Nancy Marshall.1 Pearl’s childhood was spent in Alton, Anderson County, Kentucky with her parents and siblings, William, Marshall, Curtis, Ruby, Walter, Emerald Summer, and Golda.2

Pearl married Ezra R. Walker on 31 May 1894 in Anderson County, Kentucky.3 Ezra and Pearl had five known children: Harry Bailey, Loretta, William Garland, Curtis Marshall, and Vereneasa.4 Two of Pearl’s children have entries in Pearl’s autograph book, Harry on page 40 and Loretta on page 13.5

In 1916, Ezra, Pearl, and their children moved to Norwood, Franklin County, Ohio near Cincinnati.6 Ezra began working at the Allis-Chalmers about 1916 and was employed there for 26 years.7

Pearl’s father, Thomas J. Mountjoy, died at the age of 83 in 1929, and her mother, Nancy J. “Nannie” Marshall Mountjoy, died on 10 September 1936. They are buried in Cave Hills Cemetery in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.8

Pearl’s husband, Ezra R. Walker, died at the age of 75 on 29 April 1942 in Norwood.9 He is buried in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Evendale, Hamilton County, Ohio.10

Pearl H. Mountjoy Walker died on 21 March 1956 in Hamersville, Brown County, Ohio.11 Pearl is also buried in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Evendale, Hamilton County, Ohio.12
