A photo of Iwan and Eva Carlson was purchased in Plymouth, Massachusetts in December 2022. The back of the photograph reads: Den. 26 Dec. 1905 / Iwan Carlson / Eva Carlson. As the Carlsons appear to have been originally from Sweden, it is possible “Den” is an abbreviation for Denmark.
Iwan and Eva Carlson
It is believed that the couple in the photograph are Iwan Ehrnfred Carlson, born 19 June 1881 in Kristinehamn, Värmland County, Sweden, and his wife, Eva Charlotta Carlson, born 5 May 1884 in Karlskoga, Örebro, Sweden.

Iwan and Eva were married in Boston, Massachusetts on 17 June 1905.

Following their immigration to the United States, Iwan and Eva lived in Massachusetts throughout the remainder of their lives. No known children were born to the couple.
Iwan Carlson died in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts on 28 January 1960 and Eva died on 26 January 1964. Both are buried in the Carlson family plot with Iwan’s parents and siblings in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
