Cloudy

Ethel & Leonie came up this afternoon & Ethel & Bert went downstreet & Leonie & I stayed here & read. The boys came home.

Did odds and end all day. Miss Clara Reed came over this afternoon.

Went over to Ethel’s tonight. Leonie Dore asked Clarence R. if I could take Tony the Hero & he did. it is fine.

Came right home from school, finished Tony the Hero.

Stayed after school with the rest of my class till 5.15 for geography.

Our geography never gives out Long lessons are making me stout Thin I guess

Went with Papa this morning & up to see the new bridge. He talked with Mr. McDonald & I went & found a lot of flowers.

Went down to Fannie’s tonight. Brought home a High School Journal. Isabelle & her pa came up after supper.

Fair We went down to High School after school Miss Howe let us out at 3.45. Miss Howe gave us Latin Books & we some. We gave the present tense of love.

One boy went to the board & wrote cānto through the present tense when he got through Miss Howe said to him, “Very good,” what is your name & he chirped up nice & loud

Emma & Elsie King & the baby came this morning. Bertie went down to Fanny Webster’s this afternoon.

Helped Mama. The boys came home tonight, but went downtown first.

The boys drowned my cat to-day. Poor little Tom alias Angers Me Nabs. Bennie fell down coming back or rather Dexter knocked him down. They went back tonight. Stanley’s birthday today he is 23 years old.

Miss H. told us today who were going to get out of their examinations they were, Alice Perkins, Katy Morrissey & I, the same three as last year. All the other girls got out of 1 or 2 but we three got out of them all.

Helped Ma. Isabelle came up to-night. Bennie is better & Stanley came home That is about all that happened.

Fair & Stormy Awful hot all morning. The boys went over to Emma & Johns but they were not at home.  There was a hard storm (Thursday) from 5 till 6 so the boy did not go back.  Bert went down to Isabell’s tonight & is going to stay.

24 June 1901, Monday

Went over to Lewis’s before school this morning & saw Hattie’s dress it is a beauty.  Bert & Isabelle went to the graduation. This afternoon I went to Brasselles, but Bert & Bell went down street & so I went over to Websters, Fan was not at home so I took Irene up in the grove & later when school was out I met Leonie & went over in the grove opposite Oak St. & then over to her house about 5 minutes.

This morning we reviewed the Arithmetic examination This afternoon I stayed quietly at home.

Went to school this morning and over to Leonie Dores this afternoon. We reviewed Geography exams this morning.

Tomorrow the last day of school and the class of 1901 will be no more. I went to school to day as we all had to take our Miscellaneous Examination.

!!Hot!! not even a sweet little breeze. May L. graduated from the Winthrop Grammar School today. Miss Howe gave us all a lecture & then when she delivered the diplomas, each had an extra lecture. Susie, Sally, Katy, shed a few drop of the briny mixture. The first class girls stayed after school to help her & were up to our tricks to the last. Bert, Leonie Dore & I went to the park. Met A. Perkins & R. Harmon & went with them.

The heat has not simile. Jean Rideout came down to night on his wheel. Bennie & Stanley came home also.

Hot, Hot, Hot. no name for it. Stanley, Bennie & Jean went swimming this morning Isabelle & Emma came up late this afternoon. Emma & John came over this morning. A friend of papa’s named Mr. Burtwell came up also.
