Tell us a bit about your genealogy/family history journey
I have been researching since 1990. I have found surprises, stories, and history going back many generations. I still have many more stories to find.
Favorite food or beverage
Pizza
Surnames of interest
Burgoyne, Humphrey, Smith, Haskell, Hansler (Heanssler), Lindauer, Conary, Grady, Kennedy, McDougall, York, and many more 😉
If you could meet one person from your family tree that died before you were born, who would it be and why?
My Grandmother, Hazel Heanssler Laing Burgoyne. She was adopted at 3 months and died young at 37 years old. She took many stories to the grave and I have questions 🙂
Genealogy pet peeve
People saying, ‘Yeah, if you go back far enough, we’re all related.’ They are missing the point. It’s the journeys of our ancestors that are the point.
Favorite place where you’ve traveled
Cornwall England.
From a genealogy/family history research perspective, what would you have done differently?
Documented better when I was younger.
What are you currently working on and what’s next?
I am working on many lines and I need to publish the stories to share with others. Hard to stop researching to publish. Maybe start a blog??
