Tell us a bit about your genealogy/family history journey
Active amatuer genealogist, my ancestors are English, Irish and Scots. My interest was started by trying to verify oral history which I found to be mostly inaccurate. However I have uncovered many more interesting stories and met many interesting cousins.

Surnames of interest
If you could meet one person from your family tree that died before you were born, who would it be and why?
My 3x G Grandfather James Charles Lew was a Royal Navy Lieutenant. He was involved in the Battle of the Nile in 1795 and was subsequently injured in the Blockade of Malta. He moved to Ireland with his young family and took up farming. He would have some interesting stories to tell.
Genealogy pet peeve
People linking to my original documents and research on Ancestry and never making contact.
Favorite place where you’ve traveled
The Cambridgeshire village of Oakington. Where my Harradine ancestors came from.
From a genealogy/family history research perspective, what would you have done differently?
Simply to be better organised.
What are you currently working on and what’s next?
Clarify the origins of 3xG Grandparents Thomas Craven and Mary Dooley. Thomas was an English convict from London and Mary was a bounty immigrant from Ballinasloe Co. Galway. These facts need to be fully confirmed.
